Listen to the January 3, 2012 show!
Videos allow you to build up relationships with potential clients and customers early on.
Happy New Year everybody!
This week we had an awesome show with Casey Zeman, who is an expert with YouTube. He is not as familiar with LinkedIn, so we had a great time exchanging tips about these two social media platforms.
LinkedIn has been doing some great things with integrating YouTube into your profile. For example, when you make a status update, you can add a link and have a video play right there! You can also post videos on your company pages. If you post a video in the section about your products and services, it will even push down the regular page advertising, allowing your company to have more premium space!
Casey spoke with us about some of the awesome ways YouTube can be used. It is easy to sign up and create an account; you do it with your gmail account. You can upload videos from webcams or your desktop, add tags and descriptions to your videos while they are uploading, and create quite a profile.
On YouTube there is a slight difference between subscribers and friends. For both you can connect in similar ways, such as posting bulletins (messages with videos), but subscribers will also receive email notifications when you do things such as upload a video. It creates a deeper level of connection.
We also spoke about how when you connect with someone through video, they are used to seeing you on the screen. Then when they find your website, your click through rate is much higher. Videos allow you to build up personal relationships with potential clients and customers early on.
Finally, Casey gave us some awesome tips on search with YouTube. There is, of course, the standard search bar at the top, but there is also a filter button in front of the videos. This button you can use to filter your results by a wide range of criteria, such as video ratings, views, length, creation date, and so on.
This show covered some amazing social media tips. Remember to tune in Mondays at 7pm to hear more about LinkedIn, and until then, Rock On!
